Showcases Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon, Zwinger Dresden

History in a box

Where was the cascade fountain situated? What points were the waterspouts fixed to? And at what point did the trick fountains spray the visitors? Two display cases were installed in the foyer of the Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon (Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments) in the Dresden Zwinger to provide present-day visitors with an insight into the fascinating design of the historical grotto hall. The black, suspended cabinets display selected finds and give an impression of the hall that stood on this spot until 200 years ago.
